The organisation strives for equality of educational opportunity for geographically isolated children.

The office bearers and committee members were elected and Caroline Stott offered to be the State Council delegate for the branch.

The main agenda item was the up-coming state conference which the Far West Branch has offered to host.

The conference will be held on February 26 next year with an evening function at the Western United Tigers club on Friday night.

This event will see visitors from all over South Australia attending the conference as well as many government agencies being represented.

The conference theme is “Opportunities in the Outback” and as a committee the Far West branch would like to showcase the many job opportunities there are, not only in our immediate community, but all over outback South Australia.

The committee will be seeking sponsorship and promotional products from businesses and companies in the region to highlight the job opportunities available to schoolchildren.

The Far West branch will be very busy in the coming months organising this important conference and have planned to hold their next meeting at the Nundroo Roadhouse incorporating a Christmas dinner.
