At about 2.55am on Friday, a 42-year-old male from Ceduna was stopped for a mobile driver screening test in Thevenard.
It will be alleged the male driver had a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.184, which is more than three times the legal limit.
The male received an instant driver’s license disqualification for 12 months and will be summoned to appear before the Ceduna Magistrates Court at a later date.
At about 3.42am on the same day, 18-year-old male from Port Augusta was stopped on Goode Road, Ceduna for a mobile driver screening test.
It will be alleged the driver held a provisional drivers license and had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.032.
The male received an expiation notice for exceeding the 0.00 blood alcohol concentration limit set for holders of a provisional licence and was also for fined for failing to produce his provisional drivers license on demand of police.
With the October long weekend and Oysterfest celebrations fast approaching, Ceduna Police would like to remind all motorists that police have the power to stop any vehicle at anytime to conduct random breath tests.
Police will be out in force stopping drivers to make our roads as safe as possible.
