Caught out on camera and microphone

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been caught out calling the Israeli Prime Minister a "liar".

President Sarkozy made the remark to US President Barack Obama unaware that both of them were speaking in front of live microphones.

Obama replied with a similarly candid remark: "You may be sick of him, but me, I have to deal with him every day."

The two men join a long history of politicians, media and celebrities who have been accidentally caught out on camera or microphone. Let's take a look at some of the best:

ABC preseneter Virginia Trioli pulls a 'crazy face' at Senator Barnaby Joyce

Former UK PM Gordon Brown calls a woman 'bigoted'

Reverend Jesse Jackson insults Barack Obama when he thinks the mic is off

NZ Prime News presenter sticks his fingers up, gets caught on camera

These are just five of the many examples out there. Are there any crackers that I've missed?

I only wish today's mobile phone technology was available back in 97/98..

Working at rough hells would make some very interesting listening for this page..and her trotters would never be heard entering council chambers. And her husband could retract everything he's ever lied about in the advertiser.....
